Pastor Floyd G. Flowers, Jr. was born in Denison, Texas. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, his father pastored several churches all over the United States including South Dakota, Louisiana, Texas and California. As a teenager, Pastor Flowers felt the call of God into the ministry.
After graduating high school, Pastor Flowers began studying for his BA in Business. During this time, he met the love of his life, Yvonne Pound, from Rialto, California. They were married on December 14, 1991. The Flowers worked in the local church in Rialto, CA for several years during which time their two beautiful children, Ciara and Andrew, were born. Pastor Flowers received his Local License with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) while in California.
In 1996, the Flowers family moved to Arkansas to work with First Pentecostal Church in Gravel Ridge. Pastor Flowers assumed the role of School Administrator/Principal and Assistant to the Pastor. While there, he developed his pulpit ministry and became very effective in preaching the Word of God. Pastor Flowers graduated in 1998 with a BA in Business and received his General Ministerial License with the UPCI.
In March of 2000 the Flowers family answered the call to The Apostolic Church in Albemarle, NC where they pastored for three years. While serving there, they completely remodeled the church facilities and set the church business to order. God was working with the Flowers and under their leadership the church more than doubled in attendance. Pastor Flowers became an Ordained Minister with the UPCI while in the North Carolina District.
In August of 2004, by a large majority, Pastor & Sister Flowers were elected to serve this great congregation of First Pentecostal Church. God has blessed the church with the Flowers' capable leadership and a vision for continued growth and revival in Gainesville. Pastor Flowers is a dynamic speaker/teacher and very knowledgeable in the Word of God. Under their leadership, we have aquired six beautiful acres in a very prominent area of Gainesville and built the first phase of our campus. The new facility includes a sanctuary, kitchen/fellowship hall, classrooms, youth center and evangelist suite. All of this is debt free - to God be the glory. That was just the beginning of God's great blessings to First Pentecostal Church, for wonderful things are happening...all the time!
